Pilates & Wellbeing coaching……

I believe that everyone is ‘unique’ and that everyone needs their own personal approach to wellbeing rather than conforming to a group norm.

Through my Pilates coaching, I like to help you understand how your body mechanics work, your areas of strengths and areas of challenge so we can find a programme that suits you.  From personal experience, I know that the Pilates method can benefit you at whatever level you are.  So please don’t be fearful if you are new to Pilates or have an injury which is currently in rehab.  I know from personal experience how incorporating Pilates in your daily routines can improve posture, general wellbeing and most importantly keep your spine and joints in good working order so you can get on with all that life demands of you.

I personally found Pilates after a car accident in my twenties, and it literally helped to resolve a lot of pain/stress issues I was suffering from at the time, ranging from poor posture, headaches, and a neck/shoulder injury.

Its positive effects convinced me to train as a Pilates instructor in 1999 when I qualified with Michael King’s Pilates Institute.  I then went on to qualify at L3 with CYQ and I have kept updated with latest developments attending update workshops/courses.  In 2015, I qualified to teach pre-post-natal clients and I work with many different clients ranging from high level sports athletes to beginners.

I like to offer an empathetic and tailored coaching style in all of my Pilates sessions.  I appreciate that your time spent on wellbeing is important but equally it is time for you to focus on you and switch off from busy life demands.  My coaching style is gentle yet progressive in order to help you gain more mobility, core strength and most of all provide an enjoyable learning environment where you can progress your Pilates journey whatever your level.

Pilates and Wellbeing coaching can be offered via:

  • 1 to 1 sessions at your own home or workplace
  • Group mat work sessions at community venues
  • Workplace Wellbeing – regular or one off in-house Pilates/Wellbeing workshops
  • Wellbeing events and courses

What is Pilates?

The way I teach Pilates is based on the reknown Joseph Pilates matwork techniques. It offers a simple but highly effective method of enhancing overall wellbeing.  Pilates is an essential component for personal well-being offering numerous benefits ranging from:

  • improved mobility of joints and back health
  • posture awareness and assisting in correcting specific postural issues
  • improved balance and motor-coordination
  • improved breathing, connection of mind & body
  • relaxation and stress relief
  • improved core stability

I aim to provide a relaxing, approachable and informative session for all participants.  I use modern day adapted Pilates techniques and matwork equipment. I aim to challenge gently but progressively, create self awareness for personal development.
